Drawing on my experience as a stylist assistant, I’m excited to soon unveil my own styling work, where my unique vision and creativity take center stage. My background as a stylist assistant has provided me with a solid foundation in the art of styling, and I’m eager to showcase the skills I’ve honed through hands-on experience in the fashion industry. Some of my previous work is already available for viewing, offering a glimpse into my journey and the influences that have shaped my approach.
Bridging Taiwan and London Through Style.
For this project, I styled Valerie Lin, a Taiwanese fashion designer and master’s student at the London College of Fashion, in a shoot aimed at capturing and experimenting with styling on others. I handled both the photography and editing, bringing in a sense of cultural diversity that reflects the core of my styling work. To give viewers a deeper understanding of Valerie and the vision behind this collaboration, I included a short interview. This offers a window into her background and personality, emphasizing the cross-cultural narrative I aim to express in my styling.
Urban Nature: An Exploration of Textures
This outfit showcases my experimentation with personal styling, where I aimed to blend neutral tones like grey and green for a grounded aesthetic. The addition of trekking shoes brings a rugged, outdoor element, while the pink open-top with metal clasps adds a playful twist. The fishnet tights and white button-up introduce a fresh, youthful vibe, allowing me to juxtapose strength and femininity. This look reflects my exploration of diverse influences and the ability to express various facets of my style through unexpected combinations.
Shadowed Allure.
This image explores the duality of vulnerability and strength through a dark aesthetic in lingerie. The contrasting elements highlight themes of empowerment and self-expression, challenging societal norms surrounding femininity. The use of shadow and light creates a dramatic atmosphere, emphasizing the beauty found in embracing one's darker side. This piece invites viewers to contemplate the complexities of identity and the often-hidden layers of self beneath societal expectations.
